The Advisory Panel of the Remote Scanning Quality & Safety (RSQS) Council represents a broad and diverse cross-section of the professional world of radiology.
The first task before RSQS is the development of the MRI Model Standard for Remote Operation, and the current form of the Advisory Panel represents organizations and institutions with specific interest and perspectives on remote operation of MRI. Over time it is expected that the membership of RSQS Advisory Panel members will shift as the focus on the development of new model standards shifts to CT, and then PET imaging.
Developing Inclusive Standards for Remote Imaging
While much that has been published about remote imaging has captured specific narrow elements of the broad challenge before us (i.e., workflow, staffing shortages, legal liability, safety concerns…), RSQS has invited to the Advisory Panel representatives with widely-varied viewpoints in the interest of developing model standards that establish a ‘level playing field’ for remote operations, with a set of standards that balance the issue of point-of-care medical imaging providers, remote scanning providers, the platforms that enable these services, and the interest of patients in safe, high-quality medical exams. Through this diversity we are building model standards that are equitable to all stakeholders, particularly the patient.
